How To Clear up Your Phone Memory Using Online Backup | Google Photos (with Picture reference)
As files go from HD to 4K and phone megapixels increases its natural to face such an issue. One doesn't need to shell and invest into a new smart phone or SD memory card every time their memory runs out. One of the best alternative and most underrated options to solve this issue is Online Backup & Sync. Very less people these days know how to use this option to their advantage.
I am personally an android user and I have always looked up to backing up my media regularly on Google Photos. It's smart, it's efficient since it's does everything in the background. And I don't have to worry about keeping those months old photos and videos on my phone eating away my memory.
Today I'll teach you how to do that thoroughly in this post.
For this the most important step is to switch on sync option on Ur android.
Step 1: Activating Backup & Sync
Go to Setting >Google >Backup >Google Photos > Click on the slider of 'Backup & sync' to activate it. Once done a pop up window will open asking you to choose the account on which you would like the backup on. Once selected your good with the first step of activation.
Step 2: Getting Unlimited Storage for Photos & Videos
Under the same Backup & Sync window click on 'Backup Mode' & select 'High Quality Backup'. This is a very important step since you don't what to run out of your free backup space of 15GB given by Google. And high resolution backup in Google gives you unlimited storage which is a great advantage.
Step 3: Mobile Data Option
Click on Mobile Data option. This is important option in case you have limited amount of data usage per day by Ur network provider. In such cases select your preferred daily limit in MB. I get unlimited data so I am choosing 'Unlimited' as my daily limit.
Step 4: Backup All Your Mobile Folders
To ensure that each and every photo & video folder in your mobile is backed up safely on Ur device. Click on 'backup & device folders' option & choose all the folders present on your mobile listed there.
Currently my Google Photos option is showing over 200 files left for backup. But once that option comes down to 0, I can delete all the photos & video present on devices (internal & external) & free up my device memory without any fear.
